FRIDAY NIGHT

For more than a year, I kept fantasizing about the perfect tuxedo suit. In my dream world, this would have been a sophisticated Saint Laurent suit, paired with the perfect stiletto shoes and accessorized with a bright red lipstick and just that. No shirt, no bra. But in the real world, you have to make a compromise. Last Friday, I finally had the chance to wear this new tuxedo jacket I got during sales (hurray!!). It has a very masculine cut (and I love that about it) and it's so easy to style. For a more feminine touch wear it with high heels and a camisole top.

You can see the full outfit on my Facebook page.

SUMMER STYLE

If you're crazy about denim (like I am), white jeans can be a fun and uber stylish change from the classic blue jeans. Easy to wear, match them with a denim top and statement accessories, like a belt or a necklace. For a more elegant look, try a white silk shirt and sky-high heels. Either way, make sure to keep a simple clean look. As they say - "Less is more!"

ESPADRILLES

When was the last time you wore espadrilles? Most probably in the 90s.

Neon pink and zebra print espadrilles from Stella McCartney, Washed out espadrilles from ASOS, multicolored from Zara, denim and stripes from ASOS, the ones on the left corner from Louboutin, and of course, the famous Chanel espadrilles.

Yes, you guessed...espadrilles are cool again!

CANADIAN TUXEDO

My fascination for matching denim shirts with jeans started somewhere in 2010 when I bought my first denim shirt. I clearly remember why I got for: it was meant to match, at the time, my brand new beige harem pants.   It took a while to find the perfect blue wash and shape, but in the end I got an oversized light blue shirt. As for the denim-on-denim mania, it started by accident, during one of those "I-don't-know-what-to-wear" moments when you just grab the first thing you see from the closet. Even though the fashion rules were stricly against the "canadian tuxedo", the combination felt cool and comfortable. It had the je ne sais quoi feel, so I thought - "It can't be wrong".

After three years, now I have a closet full of denim, and as I promised, I'm challenging Miss Britney for a "Who wore it better" duel:

As for the rules for wearing denim on denim without looking too retro, it's easy: you need to find a shirt and jeans that have a similar wash. If you're afraid you're gonna get it  wrong you can just wear a blue denim shirt with black or white jeans.

This is post is submitted as part of the IFB Project.

GRUNGE CHIC

You know those days when you open your jam packed closet and you still feel you have nothing to wear? When that happens I always think of Emmanuelle Alt's signature style: a pair of cropped skinny jeans, an oversized shirt tucked in front and rolled up at the sleeves, a statement belt and pointy-toed shoes. The perfect mix between chic and comfortable! I wore a checked shirt from H&M Man, to give it a little bit of a grunge groove, cropped skinny jeans from Mango and a statement belt from H&M.

STUDS ON CLOTHES

This winter studs were everywhere: on clothes, shoes, bags hats and even underwear. Even though I like them a lot, I decided not to buy many studded pieces, since you never know if next season they will still be cool.

What I liked about this shirt is that it gives and edge to every outfit and it's enought to wear it with a basic top and pants.

Shirt and pants from Zara, Jumper Benetton, bag H&M.

TREND CHALLENGE: GRUNGE

The grunge trend seen this season at Dries Van Noten, Alexander Wang and Rodarte.

A layer on top of a layer on top of another layer and so on. That's the key to a good grunge inspired outfit. Also keeping the outfit chic and stylish will be a must. You wouldn't want to look as if you took the time machine back in '94 and ended up in 2013.

I'm wearing a Kookai coat, Mango denim jacket, and an H&M bag and shirt (find a similar one here).

BLACK AND WHITE STRIPES

The black and white stripes trend seen this season at: Marc Jacobs, Balmain, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta.

It's funny to talk about it as the new trend in fashion, when in fact there's nothing new about it. "Invented" by Coco Chanel almost 100 years ago, the striped top is now a classic. I would say it's one of the must-haves for this spring. It will also be a good investment piece, since it will not go out of fashion.

I got mine from Zara and the leather skirt is from ASOS

INTO THE WILD

Those of you who live in Bucharest know the city doesn't look like this during winter. But if you decide to go for a walk in the park, you'll discover winter can have its own charm even in a crowded and noisy city. I was wearing - bag and shoes from Zara, shirt from H&M, vintage fur coat and jeans from Kookai.

BLACK AND GOLD

Minus something degrees outside and you end up wearing almost the same stuff everyday. Oh you can't really tell from the pictures how cold it is? Yeah. It's freezing! So I'm basically wearing all the time a fur coat, skinny jeans and a sweater. Last winter I used to wear a lot of jackets on top of other jackets: for instance I was wearing my leather jacket and my fur coat on top of it, but this year I just feel too comfortoble to go again for that combo.

FUN TIMES

Saturday night is always a good excuse to dress up and have some fun, no matter what you decide to do: go for a movie, a quiet dinner, or a crazy party. I spent some nice moments with my friends and got to wear something different than my everyday winter outfits (usually sweaters and jeans). Since my fascination for 90s fashion just started, I felt like trying on again the skirt on top of jeans and this was the result - a practical outfit for cold weather!

Toodles!

THE VINTAGE FUR COAT

In the past three winters due to cold weather and a slightly obsession with fashion trends, I started wearing fur coats. Vintage fur coats. The first one I got it from my grandmother and this one here, I bought it last year from a vintage fair. The past months I looked on vintage websites for a mongolian colored fur, but didn't find one yet. Maybe soon I'll get lucky!
