WHITE SILKY SHIRT

White shirt + jeans - What I like to call "The Style Uniform". For an effortless style keep your looks as simple as possible, don't use many accessories (or if you do make sure they're barely visible) and always wear high heels. Find a nice silk shirt - white or blue - and jeans that fit you perfectly. (Look for the high-waisted ones, because they will make your legs look longer). Finish the look with a nice bag - here you can go wild and choose whatever style you fancy.

UPDATE: The jeans are from ASOS and the shirt is ZARA.

CANADIAN TUXEDO

My fascination for matching denim shirts with jeans started somewhere in 2010 when I bought my first denim shirt. I clearly remember why I got for: it was meant to match, at the time, my brand new beige harem pants.   It took a while to find the perfect blue wash and shape, but in the end I got an oversized light blue shirt. As for the denim-on-denim mania, it started by accident, during one of those "I-don't-know-what-to-wear" moments when you just grab the first thing you see from the closet. Even though the fashion rules were stricly against the "canadian tuxedo", the combination felt cool and comfortable. It had the je ne sais quoi feel, so I thought - "It can't be wrong".

After three years, now I have a closet full of denim, and as I promised, I'm challenging Miss Britney for a "Who wore it better" duel:

As for the rules for wearing denim on denim without looking too retro, it's easy: you need to find a shirt and jeans that have a similar wash. If you're afraid you're gonna get it  wrong you can just wear a blue denim shirt with black or white jeans.

FROM DAY TO NIGHT: DENIM ON DENIM

Some days you get so busy that you can't think about what to wear when you'll go out later on with your friends to party. I created two different looks using the same denim shirt and jeans, so you can see how easy it is to change your looks without actually changing your clothes.

The first outfit is obviously a day look that you can wear to work. I didn't want to over accessorize it, so I only put the statement belt, while the second one has more of a cool vibe with the knotted shirt.

The jeans are from Mango, denim shirt from Zara, jacket Zara, belt H&M.
