JOY OH JOY

So here it is: my 90s inspired look, which got featured in the latest issue of Joy Magazine Romania. Hurry up and go grab it!

1 YEAR ALREADY

Exactly one year ago (already?!) I started The Stunning Look, because I wanted to have a place where I could share my projects. I want to thank everyone who helped me with this blog - the photographers, the make-up artists, the models, the designers. I got to meet some really talented people and I'm happy we got to work together on all these projects.

MASCULINE VS. FEMININE

I wanted to create for this editorial simple and chic looks, that will be masculine, but at the same time, feminine. It's also a mixture between the two seasons' trends - the white suit with satin insertions will be very popular this spring, while the sexy leather black dress and studded heels were a fall-winter hit. I didn't use any prints, everything was in black, white and neutrals, but I played a lot with different textures - jersey, leather, denim and fur. I used gold accessories, but not too many. I wanted to keep the looks simple. You know..less is more. In the end I'd say they turned out to be classic sophisticated looks that can be easily worn by many of you.

I'm happy I got to be part of this amazing project inspired by Truman Capote's iconic Black and White Ball of 1966. When Isabelle told me about her idea of doing this photoshoot I couldn't say not to it! I had great fun at the photoshoot and as you can see the result is pretty amazing!

TOP 10 MUST HAVES FOR SPRING SUMMER 2013

Winter is almost over and with that you know it's time for the new collections to hit stores! The temptation is high because tou want them all (obviously, who doesn't?), but you wouldn't want to damage your wallet. Therefore I thought of doing a selection of the must-have pieces, in order to help you decide what to buy. Here are my top 10 must-haves for Spring-Summer 2013.  

1. A PAIR OF WHITE SHOES: One thing you should know about trends this season, is that everything that used to be a fashion faux-pas is now in style. The white shoes, a longtime forgotten item, are now a must-have. You can get them in any style: brogues, stilettos, or sandals. The ones in the pictures are from ASOS.

2. A STATEMENT BOMBER JACKET: This jacket will be a good investment, because you can match it with a lot of different clothes. It will look cool with jeans and a T-shirt or with a little black dress for a more edgy style. The bomber jacket is from  DKNY and you can find a similar one here.

3. A JUMPSUIT: Get a jumpsuit in denim or a fabric that looks like it. If you want to go for a bold look you can buy a classic dungaree and match it with sky-high heels. This one is from PAUL&JOE. 

4. A TWO-TONE BAG: If you plan on buying a two-tone bag, I suggest you pick one in black and white, since it will be easier to match with all other colors and patterns you already have in your wardrobe.  

5. A SUIT: A suit can be such a sexy alternative for a cocktail dress. It doesn't matter which color or shape you choose, but a suit is a must-have for Spring. The suit from the photo is from Isabel Marant. 

6. A CROP TOP: The crop top trend made a huge come back this season. You have two options: you can either go for a grunge look or a chis look by wearing it with a jacket on top. Find one here.

7. A STATEMENT DRESS: Look for a silk organza dress that is a little bit transparent. This one is from  TOPSHOP UNIQUE.  

8. A CAMISOLE: Satin will be the fabrice this summer. I like the fact that you can wear a camisole as a top with a suit or with jeans. Definitely a must-have! 

9. A PAIR OF SWEATPANTS: Another trend inspired from the 90s, the sweatpants are again fashionable. Perfect for going to the beach or if you are a crazy fashionista you can wear them with stiletto shoes and a fancy top.  

10. A BACKPACK: A fun and practical accessory for a summer vacation. You can find this one on ASOS. 

ONE YEAR AGO

LESFILLESFLORISSANTES

Lesfillesflorissantes is the new accessories line from the Romanian brand LaChatterie. It's presented as an Instagram project and everyday a new lovely lady gets to wear a different headband from the collection. I was happy to be involved in this amazing project and I have to thank Isabelle for this! You can find more pictures on their official Instagram page @lesfillesflorissantes 

TREND CHALLENGE: A SHIRT TIED AROUND THE WAIST

Did somebody say 90s revival? Oh yes! Who would have thought the ugly trends will be back in fashion? Really? And the funny thing is, I am really excited about the whole 90s revival and I'm sure you are too (or you will soon be). Now, let's see - skirt on top of pants - checked! ugly shoes - checked! crop top - still searching for the right one, shirt tied around the waist - checked! 

I'm wearing a top and jeans from Zara, denim jacket from Mango, and a shirt from H&M Men (find a similar one here).

INTO THE WILD

Those of you who live in Bucharest know the city doesn't look like this during winter. But if you decide to go for a walk in the park, you'll discover winter can have its own charm even in a crowded and noisy city. I was wearing - bag and shoes from Zara, shirt from H&M, vintage fur coat and jeans from Kookai.

HAPPY 2013

It's a well known fact people tend to put significant pressure on themselves to have fun on New Year's Eve - they want to attend the best parties, wear the best outfits, look their best and basically have the time of their lives. But hey, who can blame them? This year, I got to spend NYE with friends at Make a Point, an art gallery in Bucharest and as cliche as it sounds, it was a fun special night! 

I wore an outfit inspired by Isabel Marant's fall winter 2012 collection -  a white dress, which also looks a bit like traditional Romanian clothing, on top of leather skinny jeans. (my new fashion obsession).

BACKSTAGE DRESS-UP

"What am I going to wear for the New Year's Eve party?" - is probably the question on every fashionista's mind. We had fun trying on different styles - funky, dramatic, girlie, and masculine and we let you decide which one's the best look for a super fashionable party!  

1st Look: Vintage sequin skirt, boyfriend T-shirt and necklace from Zara, shoes from H&M. 

2nd Look: LaChatterie velvet dress, Marni for H&M and Accessorize bracelets.

3rd Look: LaChatterie pink leather top, H&M black and white top, skirt and bracelets from ASOS.
