The bermuda shorts finally got an upgrade. I remember my last pair had a terrible cut and the fabric was something similar to denim, but not really. Don't get me wrong, they looked very cool for 2001, but I wouldn't even think of wearing them again! A decade later, they're back in fashion with a more sophisticated and chic design. If you're thinking of buying a pair, search for one made of a silky fabric and don't be afraid to wear it with less elegant clothes, like a sweater or a plain T-shirt. You don't have to be tall like a model to wear bermuda shorts, remember high-heels are a girl's best friend. And if you are tall enough, go for flat shoes.

RESORT TRENDS: WHITE SHOES
"Remember the last episode of Sex and the City, when Carrie wears white shoes?" my friend asked me, "Of, course!" I said, "I thought it was such an unexpected match, but it looked so chic!" Until recently even the idea of wearing white shoes seemed terrifying to most of us. But after browsing again and again the Resort 2014 collections, it grew on me. Or better said, it turned into a small fashion obsession.
I found these ones at H&M, (they came at a ridiculously good price) and obviously the shelves were packed with white shoes, because no one wanted to buy them. Except me. It's true they can be tricky to match, but it's not as hard as it seems. Think of them as the new black. If you pay enough attention to the Resort collections, you'll see they are worn with any kind of outfit. Full black or white, pink and neutrals or even prints.
I matched them with dark neutrals on top and beige trousers. In the end, they gave a fresh and modern touch to the entire look.

RESORT 2014
Originally created for the wealthy jet-setters, resort collections became popular among fashionistas over the past few years. With a more commercial approach than the main collections, their target is to fill in the gap between the spring-summer and fall-winter shows. They create a bridge between the two seasons and the way I see it, some how anticipate what's gonna happen next. You'll ask me, what to expect from fashion in 2014?
We're two months before spring-summer ready-to-wear clothes hit the catwalk, but if we look closely at the resort collections we can get an idea of what is yet to come. It's also a good way to figure out what garments are worth buying during sales. For instance, get as many crop tops as you like, because they won't get out of fashion anytime soon. As a matter of fact, all tops will get shorter, so don't be surprised when you'll see cropped shirts, jackets, or even sweatshirts.
White shoes are also worth buying. If now you wear them in head-to-toe white combinations, next year they will replace your black shoes in any outfit. Take a look at Alexander's Wang resort collection and you'll understand what I mean.
The black and white trend will still be in, while gold and pink will be again introduced in our wardrobes . I can feel there will be a small obsession for metallic colours, but this time with a strong 70s disco influence. Stripes get a glitzy update and the 90s power-suit will still be on everyone's lips.
Those things said, have fun shopping ladies!
